Cicapair: Worth the hype?

Something you may not know about me is that I am actually a fully qualified beauty therapist and nail technician, so when I see skincare and beauty products being raved about online, I want to try them out to see if they are really worth the hype.
Today I’m going to be sharing my honest thoughts on the Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment.
I spend endless hours everyday just scrolling through TikTok, and I noticed this product making multiple appearances, and people raving at how amazing it is, so I decided to look it up.
This product claims to be a “green-to-beige cream that adapts to skin’s natural colour to neutralise redness and even out skin tone. This all-in-one treatment covers blemishes and reduces the look of redness, reviving the appearance of fatigued skin for a vibrant look.“
As a person who suffers with uneven skin tone and redness, when I read a product description that claims to help manage my skin concerns, it will be going straight in my basket.
The product itself is a scentless thick green cream that holds its form, without being too thick or cakey looking on the skin. As described the product turns from green-to-beige and is said to adapt to your skin's natural colour, however this is where I ran into my first (and only) hiccup with this product. I have yellow undertones in my skin, only emphasised more when I wear fake tan, and I couldn’t help but notice that when the product turned to beige, it revealed more of a red/pink undertone. On the back of my hand I seemed to have no problems or faults with the product adapting to my skin tone, however on my face, it was just slightly off.
Saying that, the product offers a decent amount of coverage to minimise the look of redness and evens out the complexion well. As someone who has dry and sensitive skin, I struggle to make my skin radiate a healthy dewy glow, however this product helped me to achieve the look I was after. My skin never looked so healthy!
For the 15ml pot, I paid £13 from BeautyBay, and I can honestly say it’s worth the purchase. You don't need to use a lot of the product in order for it to work, so I think this little pot may last me a while.
So now for the inevitable question, Is it worth the hype? Yes! But I personally think the product has definitely been over hyped. It’s a great product and does what it says, but there are similar products, such as CC creams that easily give a similar look and finish.
I have seen reviews of people saying that the product didn’t suit their skin, that it made little to no difference, and that it's only suitable for lighter skin tones. Personally I can't comment on those claims as the product worked for my fair skin. The only hiccup I had was that the product didn’t suit my undertones, but I can live with that.
Have you tried the product? Let me know your thoughts!
